Korea Strait (Japanese Chosen-kaikyo), is a strait that separates South Korea from the Japanese islands of Kyushu and Honshu, and connects the Sea of Japan (Korea, which does not recognize this name, refers to this sector of the Pacific Ocean as the East Sea) in the eastern China Sea. The strait has a maximum width of 180 km and includes the islands of Tsushima. Here, on May 27, 1905, one of the battles of the Russo-Japanese War took place, which ended with the defeat of the Russians.
