Teutons is an ancient Germanic tribe, originally settled on the Jutland peninsula, corresponding to present-day Denmark.
Around 120 BC, the Teutons joined the Cimbri in their southward migration; the two peoples separated in 105 BC. The Teutons occupied Gaul and remained there until 102 BC, when they were defeated by the Roman general Gaius Marius at the Aquae Sextiae (present-day Aix-en-Provence, in France).
