Phoebe is a big sister ostrich villager from the Animal Crossing franchise. She is only the big sister ostrich in the series. Her English, Japanese, and Chinese names may refer to a mythical phoenix, with her Japanese name “hinoko”, may come from “hinotori” meaning “sparks” which also may refer to her catchphrase. Her Chinese name means “fire bird” which refers to her appearance.
In New Horizons, Phoebe has the fitness hobby and will wear sporty shades and lift heavy dumbbells while exercising.
Appearance
Phoebe is an orange-red and brilliant yellow ostrich with spotted wings, a salmon beak and striped legs. She has a yellow-orange blush on her cheeks and navy eyelashes. She has visible spots and patterns on her wings and tail. These patterns resemble a peacock's tail feathers. Her appearance is based on a Template:Wp. Her description in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp also refers to the longevity of this mythical bird. She is somewhat similar to Rio.
Personality
Having the big sister personality, Phoebe will be the elder sister figure of the player in the game. Phoebe enjoys a laid-back and peaceful life, often expressing her discontent about the cranky and snooty villagers who enjoy spreading rumors about other villagers. She may be considered a more free-spirited and adventurous version of normal villagers, and is the female counterpart of smug villagers.
House
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Phoebe's house includes a variety of furniture themed to her appearance, with red, black and yellow pieces. Her room includes a Gorgeous Bed, a mini squelchoid, a glass-top table in the center, a fireplace, an electric guitar, two simple sofas, and a poinsettia. Her wallpaper is the backgammon wall, and the checkered tile is her flooring. She has a turntable playing K.K. Flamenco.
In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, her room is very fiery, referencing the mythological phoenix she is based on. She has the Magma-cavern wall and Lava flooring, a Log stool, a red Camping cot, a tiki torch, a Simple DIY workbench, a Bonfire, and a Log bench with a red Mug sitting on the right side of it. Depending on the time of day, she may also have a red Cute music player playing K.K. Flamenco placed on the Log stool.
